Background
- 10.8 hectare residential development site&
- Outline planning permission for up to 230 dwellings
Challenges
- 33kV and 11kV overhead electricity lines crossing the site
- Third party landowner involvement to the south and northeast
- Arboricultural / ecological issues due to existing vegetation with route protection zones in the north.
Solution
- Termination of existing wayleave agreements on all the apparatus present
- Assessment of Loss report submitted to district network operator
- Separate Deed of Easement agreed with third party landowner to remove H pole from their land and joint it on to existing underground cable.
Result
- Agreement reached for DNO to pay 65% contribution towards the costs of the diversion works.
